When crisis strikes, YIRDO mobilizes emergency relief — food, non-food items, and urgent assistance — to the families and communities who need it most, especially IDPs.
Building on our Theatre of the Oppressed roots, YIRDO facilitates community dialogue sessions on child protection, GBV, FGM, and human rights to shift harmful norms toward positive, supportive behavior.
YIRDO works alongside health partners to expand access to essential health services and nutrition support for the most vulnerable members of the community.
From girls' education awareness campaigns to school enrollment drives and ending corporal punishment in schools, YIRDO works to keep every child in the classroom.
YIRDO has a team of experts in the Theatre of the Oppressed, trained by international specialists. Through image theatre, forum theatre, legislative theatre, a rainbow of desire, cop-in-the-head, invisible theatre, and playback theatre, we help communities and partner organizations open honest dialogue and move from harmful norms to supportive, positive behavior.
